Jennifer Behr: The Beginning
Jennifer Behr introduced her namesake collection of distinctive, luxury hair accessories in 2005. After majoring in sculpture and art history at Washington University in St. Louis, Jennifer honed her skills stitching custom headpieces at a tiny custom millinery shop in the suburbs of Baltimore. Jennifer later designed the hair accessory collection for hairstylist Frédéric Fekkai in 2001. When Fekkai discontinued his hair accessory line, Jennifer was encouraged by a buyer at Bergdorf Goodman to start her own collection. The success of the RTW accessory line resulted in the launch of her Bridal collection two years later.
Jennifer Behr’s designs and quality of workmanship have made her a favorite of stylists and celebrities including Alexa Chung, Hilary Duff, the Fanning sisters, Lady Gaga, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Paris Hilton, Natalie Portman, Lauren Conrad, Nicole Richie, Rihanna, Olivia Wilde and many others.
While remaining utterly sophisticated and functional, Jennifer artfully incorporates a range of materials to create unique heirloom-quality pieces, carefully constructed by hand in New York City. We hope you enjoy our musings and inspirations.
